What Is the UGI Save Smart Home Energy Upgrades Program
UGI Save Smart is UGI Utilities’ residential energy efficiency rebate program for natural gas customers in Pennsylvania. The program helps customers improve their home’s energy efficiency and comfort through a home energy evaluation process and rebates on qualifying improvements.
The program provides gas-saving recommendations focused on insulation and air sealing, improvements that directly reduce your home’s heating load and lower your natural gas bills. UGI Save Smart is particularly relevant for York County homeowners because UGI is a primary natural gas provider throughout the county.
How the UGI Save Smart Program Works
Schedule a $50 Home Energy Evaluation with a participating contractor
The contractor visits your home, identifies areas where energy is being lost, and provides gas-saving recommendations, including air sealing and insulation. You also receive a DIY energy-savings kit with energy-efficiency tips, smart thermostat installation information, and other conservation products.
Review improvement recommendations and incentive estimates
The participating contractor provides recommendations along with an estimate of the UGI rebates available for each qualifying improvement.
Choose your upgrades
You decide which improvements to proceed with based on the recommendations and your budget.
Coordinate the work with the contractor
The contractor completes the approved improvements.
UGI Save Smart Rebate for Insulation and Air Sealing
Air Sealing and Insulation
25% of the total cost of qualifying insulation and/or air sealing improvements, up to a maximum of $2,500.This rebate is available for insulation and air sealing separately or together, unlike the Columbia Gas program, which requires both to be included in the same project. However, because air sealing is what makes insulation perform properly, we include it in every insulation project.
Home Energy Evaluation
The $50 Home Energy Evaluation fee is not rebated, but the evaluation is a low-cost starting point that provides the diagnostic basis for recommending the right improvements and estimating your rebate amount before any work begins.

Columbia Gas’s WarmWise program also covers 25% up to $2,500 but requires both insulation and air sealing to be included together.
