What Is the Columbia Gas WarmWise Rebate Program

Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania’s WarmWise program provides cash rebates for qualifying energy-efficiency improvements to existing residential customers. The program covers a range of improvements, including insulation and air sealing, furnaces, boilers, water heaters, and smart thermostats.

Rebates are issued as checks, not utility bill credits, and are typically processed in 4 to 6 weeks after a complete application is received. Rebate quantities are limited and approved on a first-come, first-served basis, so submitting applications promptly after project completion is important.

The program is funded through levels approved by Pennsylvania’s Public Utility Commission, and applications must be submitted within 120 days of purchase and installation or by December 31, 2028, whichever comes first.

Rebate Amount

25% of the total cost of qualifying contractor-installed insulation and air sealing, up to a maximum of $2,500.

Important Requirement — Both Must Be Included

To qualify for the insulation rebate, both insulation and air sealing must be included in the same project. An insulation-only project does not qualify. An air sealing-only project does not qualify. Both measures must be completed together. This is an important detail that some homeowners miss when planning projects. York Home Performance includes air sealing in every insulation project as part of our standard process, so our work naturally meets this requirement.

Blower Door Test Required

Columbia Gas requires that a qualified contractor perform a blower door test to determine the amount of air leakage in your home. This is a required component of the rebate application and is part of our standard diagnostic process.

*Note: Rebate amounts are subject to change and depend on available program funding. Verify current amounts with York Home Performance at the time of the estimate.*
