How the Pepco HPwES Program Works
Schedule a $100 home energy assessment
A BPI-certified auditor performs a comprehensive evaluation, including a blower door test, thermal imaging, and combustion safety testing. The assessment is available to homes up to 3,000 square feet with a single combustion appliance zone at the $100 rate. Larger homes or those with multiple combustion zones may cost more.
Receive your customized report
The contractor uses Pepco-approved energy modeling software to calculate estimated energy savings and rebate amounts for each recommended improvement.
Choose your improvements
You decide which upgrades to proceed with. There is no obligation to complete any work after the assessment.
Work is complete, and rebates have been applied
The participating contractor installs approved improvements and handles rebate submissions to Pepco.
Pepco HPwES Rebate Amounts
Air Sealing and Insulation
Up to $10,000 or 75% of the total project cost, whichever is less. Rebate amounts are calculated based on estimated energy savings using Pepco-approved modeling software and vary based on your home's specific conditions.
Switching to Electric Heat Pump
Up to $15,000 or 75% of the job cost for customers switching from combustion fuel heating to an electric system, such as an air-source heat pump.
